Mahmoud Keshavarz is a young Iranian design researcher who is active in the field of politically aware design. Has a B.A. in Industrial Design from Azad University of Tehran and currently he is attending a master programme at The Experience Design Group at Konstfack University College of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm, Sweden. Where he is working on a research project about engagement of design to the notion of 'political citizen' in order to empower actors of a society to find alternatives such as social platforms for resistance and emancipation. For this he carries ideas from the Left Sociology and Contemporary Philosophy to engage them with design as a critical act within society. This project is entangled with 'Desiging Social Innovation' a collaborative research project between Interactive Institute of Sweden and Institute of Design at IIT, USA. Has published several papers in various magazines and newspapers in Iran and International Conferences and has contribution to the 'Design Philosophy Politics' e-zine.
